Ballroom with a Twist-mas at the Wick Theatre in Boca Raton

Hopefully, most of your Christmas shopping is done and you’re ready to enjoy the season. For sheer “getting yourself into the season,” you can’t top The Wick Theatre in Boca Raton. From top to bottom, it’s a holiday extravaganza. Boughs of greenery surround the curtain; lights and swags in the lobby as well as wonderful piano playing and singing. If the setting alone doesn’t get you into the spirit, the current Holiday Spectacular, Ballroom with a Twist-mas, will get your toes tapping, hands clapping, and bring joy to your heart. I think even Scrooge would enjoy this! For you Dancing with the Stars addicts, it features several of the dancers from the television show. Opening night featured Jonathan Roberts and Lacey Schwimmer. Other Dancing with the Stars performers to appear include Chelsie Hightower, Elena Samodanova, Tristan MacManus, Sabrina Bryan and Gleb Savchenko.

The spectacular cast includes numerous other award-winning dancers from the Dancing with the Stars troupe along with performers from So You Think You Can Dance and American Idol. The evening includes wonderful Christmas music performed by Von Smith and Vonzell Solomon. I wish I knew what church she went to so I could attend. I’m sure the choir is heavenly. Her vocal range is amazing.

So, if you can’t get enough of sequins and marabou, this is the place for you! The costumes are super glitzy and it even snows. How much great Christmas joy can you endure?

The Lennon Sisters at the Wick Theatre in Boca Raton

A special version of Sunrise, Sunset and the folk circle dance to Hava Nagila for the feast of Hanukkah was outstanding. Of course, music done in a minor key is always thrilling to hear.

They’ve all grown up to be beautiful women. What a perfect time to celebrate the past as you enter a new year. The New Year’s Eve event will also feature Missy McArdle & Company with dinner and dancing at 8:00 pm.
