by Sharon Quercioli
The Palm Beach Chapter of the World Affairs Council hosted Professor Glenn R. Swift on Monday, Oct. 25 at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach. Swift’s presentation to the prestigious group focused upon the authoritarian crackdown by Daniel Ortega and the Sandinista government as we approach the Nicaraguan General Election to be held on Nov. 7.
Swift articulated that the upcoming election will be an electoral farce and that the world community must demand change. The event was well attended, and a spirited Q & A with the audience followed Swift’s 45-minute presentation.
