Encore Palm Beach County recently held its kickoff breakfast to announce the First Annual Wisdom & Experience Work for Business Award at Hyatt Place Delray Beach. The well attended event saw Encore PBC’s Founder Rosemary Nixon ‘s passionately address an enthusiastic audience about the organization’s mission to “encourage employers to attract, re-train and retain mature workers.” Many outstanding local organizations that have enhanced ROI by tapping into this sector of the workforce were present to show their support. 

Encore PBC’s new business award, “Wisdom and Experience WORKS for Business,” is intended to celebrate those businesses who are actively hiring mature workers and provide them a forum to share best practices on how to build an inter-generational workforce to achieve a strategic advantage.

The keynote speaker at the upcoming Awards presentation in May will be Chris Farrell, contributing economics editor at “Bloomberg Businessweek” and public radio’s “Marketplace Money.” Farrell is a nationally known economist who writes and speaks about retirement, work and money. He is the author of Unretirement: How Baby Boomers Are Changing the Way We Think About Work, Community and the Good Life and Purpose and a Paycheck.
