On Thursday, January 19th, The Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce Small Business Advisory Council held its quarterly CEO Connection luncheon, which features the area’s leading CEOs. This quarter’s guest speaker was John Couris, President and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center.
John Couris serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of Jupiter Medical Center. He leads a thriving, not-for-profit medical center that is ranked number one in “overall patient satisfaction” and “likelihood to recommend” in Palm Beach and Martin counties. In April, Jupiter Medical Center was one of only two hospitals in Palm Beach and Martin Counties to receive the coveted “A” grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national patient safety watchdog, ranking it among the safest hospitals in not only South Florida and the Treasure Coast but in the United States.
Under Couris’ tenure, the Medical Center has seen growth that is unmatched in its 37-year history. Most recently, Jupiter Medical Center opened a pediatric inpatient unit in partnership with Nicklaus Children’s Hospital and is currently conducting a $300 million fundraising campaign to support the continued expansion of the Medical Center, including plans to building a new Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Beyond these impressive brick and mortar developments, the hospital is recognized as a leader in both orthopedics and oncology. Jupiter Medical Center is the only facility in the region to achieve Joint Commission accreditation for all four major areas of orthopedics, including hip, knee and shoulder replacement, as well as spinal surgery. In oncology, the Medical Center is home to some of the most advanced technology for minimally invasive cancer treatment, including two Da Vinci surgical robots and the revolutionary Cyberknife M6 for radiosurgery.
