The 2015 Woman of The Year Luncheon presented by the Women in Business Council of the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce was held on October 29th at PGA National Resort. The Luncheon honored three finalists for their outstanding commitment and contribution to Northern Palm Beach County. This year’s finalists were Sandra Foland, Kim Jones and Emily Pantelides. These three women demonstrated a commitment to the Northern Palm Beach County community by inspiring community-wide support and exemplifying the highest standards of business and community leadership.
Emcee, Erin Guy of Channel 25, spotlighted the finalists while 200 guests enjoyed lunch and networking. The event concluded with the announcement of Sandra Foland as the 2015 Woman of The Year. Congratulations, Sandie! Thank you for all that you do for North County.
Sandra Foland, as the co-founder and CEO of Baron Sign Manufacturing, Sandra’s main role is to facilitate, oversee and direct the administration, marketing and financing are her primary focus on an every day basis. Sandra is an activist in economic and governmental affairs in municipal and county affairs, she is very active in several local business groups. She leads the emphasis on “green” sign systems for LEED projects. Sandie serves on the Chamber’s Riviera Beach Business Council to facilitate Economic Development in the City. Recently she was appointed to a second term by PBC District 1 Commissioner Hal Valeche to the Business Development Board of PBC; she serves as a associate Member of PBC League of Cities. Sandie serves on the board of The Early Learning Center and the Riviera Beach Max Boys & Girls Club.
Kim Jones is Client Advisor in the Commercial/Employee Benefits division at Celedinas Insurance Group. Kim has over 15 years of business strategy consulting and management advisory work. She has developed an in-depth understanding of risk management and its importance in the larger strategic focus of an organization. Prior to joining Celedinas, she was a consultant and corporate trainer who specialized in the design and implementation of talent management strategies for Fortune 500® companies and numerous federal agencies. Kim has worked with companies such as ADP, The Palm Beach Post, Hillshire Farm & Kahn’s and Burger King Corporation. Kim is on the Board of Directors for Quantum House and serves as Chair of the Resource Development Committee for the United Way of Palm Beach County. She is a graduate of Leadership Palm Beach County, where she currently serves as President of the Board of Governors.
Emily Pantelides, for more than 10 years Emily Pantelides worked as a news anchor and reporter for a half dozen different TV stations across the nation covering everything from the Olympic games in Athens, Greece to local breaking news. Emily’s experience with media relations and crisis management led her to become the media expert and spokesperson for NextEra Energy, a Fortune 500 company. Emily opened Pantelides PR & Consulting because she knew she offered something others didn’t, a direct connection to the media. Emily is heavily involved in the Palm Beach County community and is currently serving on numerous non-profit Board of Directors in our community including: Big Dog Ranch Rescue, March of Dimes, Boys and Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County, Best Buddies, Opera Fusion and The Honda Classic CouTOURe Club.
