The Maltz Jupiter Theatre ended the season with a bang. Kiss Me Kate, a spectacular production that features a story line behind the scenes of the Shakespeare production of The Taming of the Shrew, has everything going for it from set design, costumes and ensemble talent to wonderful leads with the amazing talents of Peter Reardon as Fred Petruchio and the amazing vocal range of of Sally Wilfert as Lilli/Katharine.

Congratulations to the Maltz Jupiter Theatre for the 21 well deserved Carbonnell nominations received! Speaking of the Maltz, the Jupiter Theatre has come up with a brilliant move by including the fast-paced, riveting drama about one of the most monumental political interviews of all times—the award-winning production Frost/Nixon opens February 7-21.

Hopefully, most of your Christmas shopping is done and you’re ready to enjoy the season. For sheer “getting yourself into the season,” you can’t top The Wick Theatre in Boca Raton. From top to bottom, it’s a holiday extravaganza.

So far, the 2015-16 theatrical season is rating 10 from Boca to Jupiter. The Wick Theatre kicked off in October with the musical comedy, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. Then Palm Beach Dramaworks lived up to its name with a stellar cast and production of Picnic, running through November 8. (See Curtain Up Nov. 13)

No need to pack a basket to go on this Picnic. Just get dressed to the nines, and head for the Don & Ann Brown Theatre, 201 Clematis, West Palm Beach. That’s where the 2015/16 season opened for Palm Beach Dramaworks. Director William Hayes zeros in on the William Inge classic, Picnic, which runs through November 8.

The Maltz Jupiter Theatre kicks off on October 25-November 8 with an Agatha Christie mystery: The Mousetrap.
