ArtiGras – Palm Beaches Premier Fine Arts Festival Returns to Abacoa President’s Day Weekend.
Annually over Presidents’ Day weekend, Abacoa plays host to one of the top-50 art shows in the nation — the ArtiGras Fine Arts Festival presented by Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center and produced by the Palm Beach North Chamber of Commerce. The 32nd anniversary of ArtiGras, which benefits school art programs and local charities, begins Saturday, February 18 with the gates opening at 10 a.m.

Duels, masquerades, revenge, love and the powerful score of Prokofiev to guide the dancers through the story. Twenty-five years ago I attended the “topping off” construction party for the new performing arts center on Okeechobee Blvd. It would be known as the Kravis Center. The gathering was an “over the top” event featuring an assortment of food stations, great music and a tour of the building, including getting a chance to sing “Happy Birthday” on the huge Kravis stage.
Exciting things are happening on the Palm Beach County theater scene in preparation for the start of the 2016-17 season.
July kicks off with a Star Spangled theatrical experience at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre on Clematis Street in West Palm when Palm Beach Dramaworks presents the reason for the Independence holiday. It’s a creative version of the musical 1776.
