Back in 1969 there were only a couple of venues that produced live theater, so it was with great anticipation that theatergoers waited for the new season announcements in the Accent section of the Palm Beach Post. Usually, the lineup was to be found in the Famous Artist Series, which brought in Fall arrives bringing great anticipation of a new school year, football, and, best of all, a new theatrical season. This season looks to be one of the best in years, with all our precious theaters open for business! Take a peek at what is available for your viewing pleasure, and know that each show offers the very best in live entertainment.
Maltz Jupiter Theatre
The newly remodeled Maltz Jupiter Theater will open on October 25 with the Tony Award-winning Jersey Boys the story of Franky Valli and the Four Seasons. The show is joyous and will have you humming all those songs that were made popular by this prolific group. Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons still sell out large venues singing “Sherry,” “Walk Like a Man,” “Dawn,” and “Rag Doll,” as well as many others. The show will run from October 25-November 13. Come and stay to admire the beautiful Maltz Jupiter Theatre.
Do you love theatre, but you don’t have a buddy? The Maltz Jupiter Theater has a Maltz Mingle on Sunday matinees on the third week of each show. This is for single ticket holders only. The Maltz Mingle benefits include:
- You will receive the group rate price.
- You sit with the Matlz Mingle group.
- You will be invited an hour before the show into the Imagine Room to mingle and meet the rest of the group while enjoying complementary refreshments.

Palm Beach Dramaworks
Palm Beach Dramaworks, which presents “Theater to Think About,” starts their season on October 14 with the play 4000 Miles by Amy Herzog and directed by J. Barry Lewis. 4000 Miles is a dramatic comedy and was a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
The story is about Leo who suffers a life changing loss while on a cross country bike ride. Leo seeks solace from his no nonsense 91-year-old grandmother, Vera, in her West Village apartment. Herzog uses her grandmother and cousin to fashion the characters. This story is real, and both funny and painful. If J. Barry Lewis is directing, the show will be beautifully staged with all the nuances that bring to life 21-year-old Leo and 91-year-old Vera. Herzog is masterful in bringing the human experience in her writing. 4000 Miles runs from October 14-30, 2022.
