Prestigious Event Features Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center CEO Jeffrey M. Welch

On Thursday, April 7, 2016, the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce held its quarterly CEO Connection luncheon, which features the area’s leading CEOs. This quarter’s guest speaker was Jeffrey M. Welch, CEO of Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center.

At the center, Welch is responsible for all hospital operations, executive planning and medical services of the 199-bed acute care hospital. Welch has over 25 years of operational and financial leadership experience in major academic medical centers and community health systems. Most recently, he served as the CEO of Coral Gables Hospital, where he achieved significant growth in the areas of hospital admissions, inpatient and outpatient surgical volumes and emergency room utilization. Under his leadership, the hospital received the highest ratings within Tenet for employee and physician satisfaction.

Prior to his appointment as CEO of Coral Gables Hospital, Welch was the Chief Operating Officer at Delray Medical Center. Among his accomplishments as COO, Welch spearheaded several innovative projects including the opening of a Special Procedures Room, new Cardiac Catheterization Lab, two additional OR Suites and the hospital’s newly opened Electrophysiology Lab. He also directed operational savings initiatives, managed and directed construction projects, developed patient satisfaction programs and negotiated contracts for physician recruitment.

Welch also previously served as the Vice President of Operations at Riverview Medical Center and Assistant Vice President of Operations at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, both in New Jersey.
